Why teams look beyond Microsoft Teams

Teams is strong at chat and meetings inside Microsoft 365. The trouble starts with the work those conversations are about.

Invoices, payroll and sales live elsewhere

Microsoft 365's business plans cover email, files, chat and meetings. Invoicing, payroll and a sales pipeline are other products to buy and connect. ADLR includes them in the seat.

AI is an add-on

Copilot Chat comes with Microsoft 365, and Microsoft 365 Copilot is a paid add-on. Adi, ADLR's built-in AI, is part of every seat, across your inbox, projects, notes and calendar.

One project, four apps

In Microsoft 365, a client project's chat sits in Teams, its tasks in Planner, its files in SharePoint and its email in Outlook. In ADLR they're parts of one workspace, a click apart.

Where Microsoft Teams still wins

An honest list, so you can decide with your eyes open.

Teams wins

Recorded meetings, with transcripts

Teams records meetings and writes a transcript, even on Teams Essentials. ADLR doesn't record: a Room keeps each meeting's chat and files, and Adi writes the minutes when AI is on.

Teams wins

Word, Excel and PowerPoint

With Microsoft 365, people edit the same Office file at the same time. ADLR has its own Docs and Sheets, and keeps the Office files you upload as files, with a preview.

Teams wins

A lower price for chat and meetings alone

If chat and meetings are all you need, Teams Essentials is $4 a user a month, paid yearly. ADLR is $35 because email, projects, HR, finance and Adi come with it.

What you keep from Teams

The chat and meeting habits your team already has. What changes is everything around them.

  • Channels and group chats
  • Direct messages
  • Threads and reactions
  • @mentions
  • Files with previews
  • Voice notes
  • Meetings with screen share
  • Raise hand and chat in meetings

Built for the way client teams work

Dev shops

A project's chat next to the build

Each project has its own chat beside its tasks, and Tasks has a GitHub view, so a question in chat is one click from the work.

Agencies and services

From the client's email to a paid invoice

Client email on your own domain, the contract they sign and an invoice they can pay by card, all in one workspace.

Remote teams

Stand-ups that keep their notes

A Room keeps a team's meetings, chat and files together, with Adi's minutes when AI is on.

Switching, with help

ADLR doesn't import Teams chats. Here is how teams move over.

  1. Book your onboarding call

Thirty minutes with us, and you leave with a migration plan. Migration help is free.

  2. Set up channels and invite the team

Create your channels and group chats, then invite people by email.

  3. Move your email

Point your domain's mail at ADLR, or connect Gmail and IMAP mailboxes. An MBOX file brings old mail across.

  4. Run both while you switch

Keep Teams open while your team moves over. The two aren't connected, so set a date for the switch.

Questions teams ask before switching
